If you’re heading to Corfu and wondering, what plug adapter do I need? — you’re not alone👋.

The answer depends on where you’re travelling from. Corfu, like the rest of Greece, uses the standard European plug type C or F with a voltage of 230V.

So, if you’re visiting from another European country, you can relax — no adapter needed!

For UK travellers (like me!), you’ll definitely need an adapter.

I’ve been to Corfu many times and have used everything from fancy worldwide adapters to quick-fix Amazon finds.

So don’t fork out a lot on these, they all work pretty much the same!

For any US travellers will need one too, and it’s worth double-checking your devices are dual voltage. If you’re coming from Australia or parts of Asia, same story — you’ll need a plug adapter for sure.

To help you out, I’ve created this overview so you don’t get caught out mid-charge.

What travel adapter do I need for Corfu?

🚨I want to mention this early on for any of my girlies who like to bring hair-dryers etc.

In some hotels in Greece in the past, I have had issues with not being able to use my hair dryer 🤦‍♀️

No matter how good your adapter is, sometimes the power isn’t strong enough. But things like straighteners and curling irons have been fine.

If you’re visiting from the UK, you’ll need an adapter that converts type G to type C or F. I’ve travelled to Corfu many times from the UK and have used everything from trusty worldwide adapters to quick Amazon bargains.

Are Greek plugs the same as European plugs?

A white European plug socket with a wire going into it is similar to ones you will find in Greece

Great question — and one I totally had myself the first time I packed for Corfu!

Yes, Greek plugs are the same as most European plugs — specifically type C and F (the two round pin ones). So if you’re travelling from somewhere else in Europe, chances are you won’t need an adapter.

That said, there are a few exceptions!

For example, Malta uses British-style plugs (type G), so if you’re coming from there, or somewhere similar, you will need an adapter.

But if you’re arriving from countries like Italy, France, Germany, Spain, or the Netherlands — you’re good to go!

Just pack your chargers and plug them straight in.

What adapter do I need for Greece from the UK?

A UK to Europe travel adapter labeled "Europe" is placed on a textured light blue surface next to a pair of brown cat-eye sunglasses, symbolizing essential travel accessories for visiting Greece or other European countries.

If you’re travelling to Greece from the UK, you’ll need a Type C or Type F adapter — they both have two round pins, which is the standard across most of Europe (Greece included).

UK plugs are Type G, with the three rectangular pins, so unfortunately they won’t fit into Greek sockets without help!

I’ve travelled from the UK to Corfu loads of times and have used everything from a cheap Amazon adapter to a fancier worldwide one with USB ports — honestly, you don’t need to spend a fortune.

Plug Adapters for Corfu: My final thoughts

So, will you need a plug adapter for Corfu? Most likely—unless you’re coming from elsewhere in Europe.

But honestly, don’t stress!

These days, plug adapters are easy to find, super affordable, and you really don’t have to spend a fortune.

We should be saving money to spend in Corfu, Right?!

I always try to go for the more compact ones so they don’t take up loads of space in my luggage (nobody wants to lug around a chunky brick from the Airport).

Just grab one in advance and you’ll be all set to charge your camera, phone, or whatever else you’re bringing.

Oh, and don’t forget to also include Mozzie spray, they bite!
