Packing for Corfu? I’ve got you! 👋

Whether I’m travelling with just hand luggage or checking in a 20kg suitcase, there are a few non-negotiables I always bring with me.

My full-face snorkel (because the water is unreal), a light shirt for those hot-but-breezy evenings, trusty flat shoes, sunglasses, and insect repellent—because the mozzies don’t mess around 😳.

Corfu’s laid-back vibe means you don’t need loads, but being prepared makes all the difference.

As someone who heads to the island regularly, I’ve fine-tuned what actually gets used and what just takes up space.

So if you’re unsure what to pack for your own trip, let me help you avoid the overpacking trap and focus on the essentials you’ll actually use.

Your Quick Overview

These are the items I pack for every trip to Corfu 👇

If you are visiting before the late spring/summer, just add a waterproof coat and something warm to the list:

✔️ Polarized Sunglasses– The sun can be blinding in Corfu!

✔️ White Loose Shirt– A staple in every Mediterranean Wardrobe

✔️ Flat Shoes– Perfect for Corfu Town Adventures

Clothes to wear in Corfu:

I'm wearing a light green and white summer maxi dress with a crossbody bag, standing in front of a traditional beige church building in Corfu with a vine-covered wall and arched doorway. Dresses like this are what I take to Corfu to cope with the warm weather.

When it comes to what to wear in Corfu, keep it light – the heat can get intense, especially in the middle of the day.

Think breathable fabrics, floaty styles and comfy fits. That said, it’s a good idea to pack a couple of pieces that give you a bit more coverage.

Whether it’s to protect sunburnt shoulders or to respectfully visit religious spots like monasteries, you’ll be glad to have a light scarf, loose trousers or a throw-on dress in your bag.

To help you out, take a look at these packing lists (based on what myself and family take every year):

☀️ What to Pack for Corfu – Women’s Edition

  • Lightweight dresses – floaty, comfy, and perfect for those warm Corfu evenings
  • Swimsuits (at least two!) – for beach days, boat trips, and pool lounging
  • Cover-ups/sarongs – ideal for going from beach to taverna ( not suitable for restaurants etc)
  • Sun hat – your skin will thank you
  • Sunglasses – because the sun is no joke
  • Light cardigan or wrap – evenings can get breezy outside the summer
  • Evening outfit – something nice for a dinner with a view
  • Underwear & PJs – obvious but easy to forget!

☀️ What to Pack for Corfu – Men’s Edition

  • T-shirts & vests – light and breathable is the way to go
  • Shorts – pack a few pairs for daytime exploring
  • Swim trunks – again, two is ideal so you’re never soggy
  • Button-up shirt or polo – perfect for dinner or drinks
  • Sun hat or cap – keep that head cool
  • Sunglasses – essential for bright days on the water
  • Light hoodie or jumper – in case it gets cool at night

👣 The best Shoes to pack for Corfu:

I used to bring flip flops, sandals, smart shoes and trainers—the whole lineup. But honestly? Most of the time, you just don’t need them all.

Corfu is relaxed, beachy, and best enjoyed with minimal faff. So here’s what you actually need on your feet:

  • Comfy sandals – for everyday walking, sightseeing, and popping into beach bars
  • Flip flops – for the beach or just wandering around your hotel. The pool tiles get seriously hot so don’t skip on these!
  • Light trainers or walking shoes – if you’re planning to explore the Old Town or do any uphill wandering. These were handy at Corfu Donkey Rescue!
  • One nicer pair (optional) – something like a cute flat sandal or smart loafer if you’re heading out somewhere a bit fancier

That’s it. No heels, no heavy boots, no stress. Keep it simple and your suitcase (and feet) will thank you!

🎒 Other items I highly recommend packing:

Packing smart doesn’t have to be complicated – here’s the stuff that’ll make your life easier (and your trip smoother):

  • E-sim or international SIM – if you’re not from the UK or EU or your provider doesn’t include roaming
  • Backpack or beach bag – for sunscreen, water, camera, snacks… you know the drill
  • Insect repellent – Corfu mosquitoes don’t mess around
  • Full-face snorkel – for fuss-free underwater exploring (and better photos!)
  • Sea shoes – pebble beaches + bare feet = not the vibe
  • Travel adapter – Greece uses standard EU plugs (Type C)
  • Euros – cash is still king in smaller villages and family-run spots
  • Light scarf or sarong – for temples, breezy evenings, or makeshift beach shade
  • Basic first aid bits – think plasters, paracetamol, antihistamines, etc.
  • Power bank – because Google Maps, beach pics and Spotify will drain your phone fast
  • Wet wipes / hand sanitiser – especially helpful on boat trips or hikes
  • Waterproof phone pouch – great for beach days or boat hire
  • Book or Kindle – for poolside or siesta reading

Final Thoughts on packing for Corfu

Packing for Corfu doesn’t have to be stressful – it’s all about keeping things light, practical and comfortable.

Whether you’re off to explore old villages, laze on dreamy beaches, or wander through olive groves, having the right clothes, shoes and extras can make all the difference.

You really don’t need to overpack – trust me, half the things I used to bring never left the suitcase!

Stick to the essentials, leave space for souvenirs- I recommend going to Sweet ‘N Spicy Organic Shop and picking up some Authentic Greek spices.
